We had a tree plantation today on the occasion of childrens' day. There was a plan to plant 15 trees on the road and a few in the Uthkarsh Udyan. We had just 20 registrations and the actual turnout today was 69 kids :)
It was fun to see kids of all age groups ranging from 17 months old to 16 yr olds :) from different apartments.
After assembling in the park, the children first played few games with nikhil and then with the help of all uthkarsh volunteers they went ahead to plant trees. The tiny tots planted in the park and the elder ones planted on the road side.
After today's successful event, we have been requested to have more tree plantation events like this in the near future so that other children can also get the chance to plant trees in case they missed it today.
Hopefully the saplings planted today will survive and we will have many trees in the future by the time these kids grow up.
